NEW YEAR… DIRECTION

Good afternoon Root Down Community…

As I hope everyone can sense, I am very happy to be back in good health. I’m excited and grateful to have the opportunity again to effectively lead you all to better health and longevity. There have been new elements built into each session including led warm-ups, mobility exercises and the re-addition of Open Gym on Saturdays.


As an owner and coach in many gym environments, my goal, along with teaching people how to move efficiently and be better, has always been to create community. Your consistency throughout my absence and recovery was evidence to just how strong our community is. Thank you!

Moving forward, it is my vision to create a more all-encompassing environment for our community including nutritional consultation, personal training, kids classes (ages 5 to 10), athlete foundation and movement assessment among others to enhance your healthy journey. Great things are about to happen!


Since the very beginning, my wellness journey has always centered around a “primal” lifestyle. Through much reading, research, intuition and action, I have found that living ancestrally is optimal. Regarding nutrition, functional movement patterns and mental wellness, it has been my opinion that each of us are “wired” to live simply. Throughout my journey, words like “prime” and “paleo” have become buzzwords that may be misused in terms of a diet. Diets are short term goals with short term rewards. However, lifestyle changes can create long term wellness benefits. It is my goal to help you accommodate these changes into your lives.



It’s not easy. I know. But, nothing of true worth ever is. Data shows that only 2% of the population practices such as lifestyle….taking stairs instead of elevators or escalators….parking a greater distance from the store to perhaps get in a small walk…passing on the free doughnuts that someone was NICE enough to contribute. These are small things…it all is. But they add up. Be a 2%er!



Beginning January 1, Root Down Community Strength and Fitness will become Primal Freedom…Fitness, Nutrition and Wellness. Let me start by saying NOTHING current is changing…classes will be as usual and same programming, warm-ups and mobility. It will become more personal with more opportunity to meet your wellness goals.


In the coming weeks, there will be signage changes as well as new SWAG to boast your commitment to a healthier you.
